The following repertoire was presented at the Elementary School Choral Reading Session at the MMEA All-State Conference in Boston on March 20, 2014 by Charlotte Brumit, Mass ACDA Children’s & Community Youth Choir R & S Chair (American Choral Directors Association, MA Chapter) and
Martha Sandman Holmes, President, BAKE (Boston Area Kodaly Educators).
“Our children’s choirs deserve to sing literature of high quality that is, at the same time, appropriate, appealing and accessible to them as newcomers to the choral experience. Given the positive feedback from those who attended our reading sessions at the 2012 and 2013 conferences, we offer a new set of repertoire that meets these same important criteria. The packet will include selections in a wide variety of styles and genres that will both inspire our young singers and meet their needs.”
