David Giessow is a Lecturer in Music at The University of Massachusetts Boston where he conducts two choirs (the 100-voice non-auditioned University Chorus and the 24-voice auditioned Chamber Singers), teaches voice lessons, supervises student teachers, occasionally teaches music education courses, and plays violin in the University Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Giessow is also conductor of the Somerville Community Chorus, and he is the Director of Music at the Hingham Congregational Church. He has over ten years experience teaching secondary choral music in public schools in Massachusetts and Florida and has experience as a clinician and adjudicator. Mr. Giessow holds degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance from The University of Miami and The New England Conservatory of Music. He has completed additional graduate studies in conducting at The Eastman School of Music, Westminster Choir College, and The University of Southern California.
