Non-competitive, Adjudicated Youth and Children’s Choir Festivals
Participating choirs will have the opportunity to present short, individual performances, also to listen to the performances of other choirs and to join together in singing a combined final selection. Singers and directors alike gain a sense of being part of a larger, enthusiastic community of choral musicians! Application Deadline is Monday, January 9th.

Combined Piece: The Joy I Feel! arr. Tim Gregory
Dr. Vanessa L. Bond is Assistant Professor of Music Education at University of Hartford’s The Hartt School where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in music education and serves as the Coordinator of Student Teaching. Dr. Bond’s research focuses on the musical lives of young children (with special interest in the application of Reggio Emilia early childhood approach principles to music education), culturally responsive teaching, and the choral experiences of underrepresented populations. She has presented this work at conferences throughout the United States and abroad.
Dr. Bond joined the Connecticut Children’s Chorus faculty in 2012 and is the current Education Director of CCC as well as the director of the Prelude Choir for children in grades three to five. She has served as a guest conductor for several honor choirs, most recently as the conductor of the Rhode Island All-State Children’s Chorus in 2016. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education degree from Gettysburg College, a Master of Music in Voice Pedagogy and Performance degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education degree from Case Western Reserve University.
