Call for Interest Sessions for the 2014 Mass ACDA Summer Conference

In addition to presentations from our distinguished clinicians Mary Goetze &Betsy Cook Weber, our 2014 Summer Conference, located at Smith College, July 20-23, will include 6-8 one-hour interest sessions, tapping the expertise and led by our own Massachusetts ACDA members on a wide range of issues. Popular sessions last year included:
  • Vocal health for choral teachers
  • Starting a high school choral program from scratch
  • Teaching rhythmic literacy
  • Britten’s music for children
Some possible NEW topics could be:
  • Working with special needs students
  • Preparing a musical
  • A technical tune up for conductors
  • Commissioning new works
  • Recruiting strategies for more diverse choirs and/or for more boys
We welcome your application to lead a session on a topic of your own choosing.  Please submit your application online here: 2014 MassACDA Summer Conference Interest Session Proposal Application.  A committee of MassACDA Board members will review the applications, and choose sessions to complement the offerings of our headliner clinicians, sessions which will further stimulate, challenge, and educate our colleagues, and contribute to choral excellence in the Commonwealth and beyond.  Deadline for submission is January 15.
Interest session leaders are not paid – they must register for the Conference, but they will receive a $100 discount.  Questions: please contact Anne Watson Born awborn@comcast.net
