Headliner clinicians: Mary Goetze (University of Indiana, retired) and Betsy Cook Weber (University of Houston).  July 22 collaborative public performance of James Whitbourn’s Annelies, on texts from the Diary of Anne Frank, by Coro Allegro (David Hodgkins, conductor), Chorus pro Musica (Jamie Kirsch, conductor), Lynn Eustis, soprano, and a professional chamber ensemble. With optional participation by Conference registrants in the work’s central “chorale” movement. Clinician sessions include a Boot Camp for Conductors, Ten Commandments of Leading Good Rehearsals: When Research and Common Sense Converge and 33 Opinionated Ideas about Selecting Repertoire (BCW); also Democracy & Artistic Citizenship, Repertoire for Children and Youth, and Preparing Multicultural Repertoire: Honoring the Culture through Respectful Recreation of the Music” (MG).

Registration includes a hefty packet of recommended repertoire at all levels, “face2face” individual sessions with a panel of outstanding conductors, and inspiring practical sessions presented by our own Massachusetts experts. Topics may include Quality Music for the All-volunteer Church Choir, Shape Note Singing, Commissioning New Works, the Feldenkrais Method for Conductors and Singers, Vocal Health for Choral Teachers, Launching a HS Musical, Rounds for Warm-Ups and Performance.  Comfortable campus accommodations, free PDPs, affordable graduate credit thru UMassAmherst.
