Tianxu Zhou is the director of the choral program at UMass Dartmouth. He is also the director of South Coast Children’s Chorus and the director of the choral program at Tabor Academy. Graduated from Central Conservatory of China, Dr. Zhou received his DMA in music performance from Shenandoah Conservatory.
As a singer, Dr. Zhou is featured as baritone soloist in concerts and operatic productions both in America and abroad throughout Asia and Europe. He has performed with Washington National Opera, National Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Symphony and the Grammy award winning Washington Chorus.
As a conductor, Dr. Zhou is active in collegiate and secondary school choral clinics and festivals. He has conducted Tri-County Choral Festival in Southeastern Massachusetts and the South East Massachusetts MMEA District Junior Chorus festival. Dr. Zhou has been invited to be the guest conductor for multiple choral festivals in China in addition to presentations in ACDA regional and other international conferences.
