MassACDA Collegiate Virtual Workshop

MassACDA is hosting an online workshop for aspiring choral professionals and their teachers and mentors, via Zoom, from 10am-1pm on Saturday February 20. Are you considering a career in choral teaching? Are you considering applying for graduate choral study? Do you advise undergraduate choral musicians? If so, this workshop is for you!

Providing Tools for Future Leadership: Mentorship & Education
Schedule:
10am – Goal-Setting and Connecting, hosted by Jonathan Harvey
11am – “Strategies for Novice Teachers” panel, moderated by Felicia Barber

Panelists teachers from 0 < 5 years, mid-career teachers 5 < 10 years, and master teachers with 10+ years of experience.

The panelists include choral educators from across Massachusetts, sharing insights and strategies for students entering the choral teaching field.
12pm – “Graduate School Prep” panel, moderated by Lisa Graham

Panelists include Jeff Douma (Yale University), Amanda Quist (University of Miami), Eugene Rogers (University of Michigan), and Tony Thornton (UMass Amherst).

Panelists will be sharing tips and answering questions about the graduate school application process, and giving recommendations on programs and majors for those interested in pursuing advanced degrees.
