SUMMARY:MassACDA Collegiate Virtual Workshop
DESCRIPTION:MassACDA is hosting an online workshop for aspiring choral professionals and their teachers and mentors\, via Zoom\, from 10am-1pm on Saturday February 20. Are you considering a career in choral teaching? Are you considering applying for graduate choral study? Do you advise undergraduate choral musicians? If so\, this workshop is for you! \n\nTheme: \nProviding Tools for Future Leadership:  Mentorship & Education \n  \nSchedule: \n10am – Goal-Setting and Connecting\, hosted by Jonathan Harvey \n11am – “Strategies for Novice Teachers” panel\, moderated by Felicia Barber \n\n\nPanelists teachers from 0 < 5 years\, mid-career teachers 5 < 10 years\, and master teachers with 10+ years of experience. \n\n\nThe panelists include choral educators from across Massachusetts\, sharing insights and strategies for students entering the choral teaching field. \n\n\n12pm – “Graduate School Prep” panel\, moderated by Lisa Graham \n\n\nPanelists include Jeff Douma (Yale University)\, Amanda Quist (University of Miami)\, Eugene Rogers (University of Michigan)\, and Tony Thornton (UMass Amherst). \n\n\nPanelists will be sharing tips and answering questions about the graduate school application process\, and giving recommendations on programs and majors for those interested in pursuing advanced degrees. \n\n\n\nRegistration: \nFree to current ACDA Members! \n\n\nEarly Bird Registration is open now until Friday February 12; and the workshop is FREE for ACDA members\, and $5 for non-members. \n\n\nLate Registration (February 13-20) is $10 for non-members. \n\n\nThe registration form can be found here. \n\n\n\nACDA is currently running a student membership drive (https://acda.org/resources-for-student-members/)\, and a new student membership is just $5! Students attending this workshop are encouraged to become ACDA members – the price of the workshop is the same as the price of a full year membership. \nMassACDA is also encouraging colleges and universities across the state to start their own Student Chapters (https://acda.org/resources-for-student-members/student-chapters/) – a great way to increase the visibility of choral music on your campus\, and connect with other choral musicians at your school and across the country. \n Questions?
