SUMMARY:2026 MassACDA Collegiate Big Sing
DESCRIPTION:Come perform the Beethoven Mass in C Major\, Op. 86 at Harvard University’s Sanders Theatre on Saturday\, February 21\, 2026! Under the direction of Dr. Hana Cai\, the work will be performed in a newly commissioned arrangement for chorus\, piano four-hands\, and harmonium by musicologist Michael Ostrzyga. Collegiate ensembles as well as individual singers are invited to attend! \nRegistration is $30 per person and dinner is included. In addition to rehearsals preparing the Beethoven\, the day will include a private “sing and share” in which participating collegiate ensembles will have the opportunity to perform for each other. \nProfessional Development Points (PDPs) are available for in-service MA educators. \nPlease register by Monday\, January 26. DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Massachusetts ACDA Conference will be held August 14th–16th at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee in Boston. The conference will feature Ethan Sperry and Sophia Miller as headliners\, and engaging one-hour interest sessions offered by MassACDA members.  Participants will also have the option to sing in the popular conference chorus.  \nCalling all Boston Community Choir Singers! \nWe are excited to announce that for this year’s summer conference\, we are opening up our Saturday schedule to interested singers to attend sessions.  \nCome attend sessions by our headliner\, Ethan Sperry\, sessions on voice building\, a presentation by Cambridge Common Voices (Directed by Andrew Clark). After a group dinner\, singers are invited to attend our conference presentation of the conductor’s chorus\, conducted by Dr. Sperry\, a performance by Cambridge Common Voices\, followed by a community sing lead by Lisa Graham.  \nCome for the community sing\, the afternoon\, or the full day- each option will gear you up to get back into the concert season with some inspiration. SUMMARY:2024 MassACDA Summer Conference
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Massachusetts ACDA Conference will be held July 14th-17th on the Assumption University campus in Worcester\, MA.  The conference will feature the fantastically versatile British conductor\, composer\, singer and producer Ben Parry. Other highlights include a special appearance by Village Harmony\, and a celebration of Alice Parker lead by the legendary Nick Page. \nThe conference will also include engaging one-hour interest sessions featuring topics of research and expertise by Massachusetts ACDA members. Conference participants will have the opportunity to sing with our annual Conference Chorus conducted by Ben Parry. For our younger singers\, we will feature for the first time\, a Youth Chorus Festival on July 16th\, led by Pamela Mindell\, Reagan Paras\, and Kevin Neel. \nClick here to REGISTER \nClick here to see the SCHEDULE of events. \nClick here to read detailed descriptions of the SESSIONS. \nPlease note that registration includes the cost of dinner Sunday\, all lunches\, and snacks\, in addition to the sheet music for the Conference Chorus. Dinner on Monday will be on your own. \nRegistration opens at 2:30 pm on Sunday\, and dinner begins that night at 4:30 pm. \nPDP will be available for no additional cost. You will need to sign in at each of the sessions and will receive a certificate at the end\, indicating how many hours you attended. For an additional cost\, graduate credit will be available through Westfield State. You will need to complete 15 hours of sessions and provide a written submission of extra evidence to receive 1 credit\, and you will need 25 hours of sessions\, and a written submission of extra evidence for 2 credit hours.

SUMMARY:2021 MassACDA Virtual Summer Conference
DESCRIPTION:This year’s 2-Day Virtual Summer Conference will be held on Monday & Tuesday\, July 12-13th.  Our daily schedule will be held between 9:00 am and 3:00pm\, divided into 50-minute sessions.   The conference will showcase a variety of events including interest sessions\, reading sessions\, and concert sessions.  We are excited to bring knowledgeable researchers and clinicians from across our state to present sessions on the following topics:  “Real Talk” in the Choral Rehearsal\, Introducing Gospel Music into your Choral Program\, Rounds Make the World Go Love!\, Marginalized Masterpieces: Works by BIPOC Composers Before 1800 That We Should All Know\, A Conducting Review\, and Feldenkrais as Self-Care for Conductors and Singers.  We also will have two reading sessions featuring SSA & TTBB music and K-12 Literature; as well as two concerts featuring area youth and advanced ensembles from Massachusetts.  All sessions will be recorded and links will be provided to all attendees. \nClick here to register for the conference!  \nThe cost is $35 for ACDA members\, $10 for collegiate members and $50 for non-members.  We are excited to offer these professional development opportunities to our membership and hope that you will be able to join us in July!
