Bio
Brad is a passionate arts advocate working to create and support artistic projects that contribute to cultural improvement and community-based arts education. As a conductor, he believes in the power of choral singing to build empathetic communities — providing space for those who may otherwise not be heard. Brad is committed to a process-oriented approach of music-making which allows for artists to explore broad themes within the topics of equity and justice. Brad is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Bridgewater State University as well as the Artistic Projects Manager for Emmanuel Music in Boston. Brad serves as an artistic leader for the justice-focused choral ensemble VOICES 21C, with whom he has led workshops and performances in Mexico, Sri Lanka, France, and Palestine as well as at international and national conferences, including multiple appearances with the American Choral Director’s Association. He also co-hosted the podcast “Engender” focused on gender diversity in choral music on The Choral Commons.
